Hi everyone, we've been trying to treat our blue hippo tang for ich and we're about to set up a hospital tank for copper treatment, but we saw a product called Kordon Rid-Ich+. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm wary about putting new chemicals into the tank, so is this an effective product or more or a snake oil thing?

Thanks!

It isn’t snake oil like some of the herbal “medications”, but it is just formalin and malachite green. That formulation really is better for treating freshwater diseases. Marine ich and velvet do not respond as well to it. I always opt for copper with marine fish.

Is it usable for baths?

It really isn’t any better as a bath. The malachite green is toxic at higher concentrations. If it were just formalin, it would have more uses as a dip.
