Hey guys! Nice to see you again. I used to have one 30ltrs aquarium and 10 months ago i built a 170 custome made reef. The first one i did by myself!

So the reef is running right now and i was just wandering why my corals are not that high in colours. I am going to tell you about my set up and please i would like to tell me exactly what you think about my reef. Its not that beautifull i know but its my first try!

-So 80*40*50 main aquarium, 60*30*40 the sump. The light i use is popular grow 165w. The settings are 29 white ( cool white, warm white, green, red ), 130 blue and 130 nightblue for 13.00-20.00 and the rest is just blue for the moonlight and the dawn.

-Next one is the skimmer. I used to have Deltec mce 300 but was not that good for me so i updated to Deltec SC-1456 and i run i really low because it drained the PO4 once :p

- Apart from that i use Nitribiotic for bacteria 1ml per week

- I do have corals but not that much. The one i have now are good in health but if i enter some things do not go well. I also got 2 pseudanthias squamipinnis, one lysmata amboinensis and one crocea clam!

Finally i should also mention that i have 7,7 ΚΗ, 1420MG, 450Ca, 0,03PO4, 2-5NH3 and 1026 SG

For lighting, the only way to verify if you have the right levels with a PAR meter. It also looks like you have a slight algae problem that you may need to deal with sooner as opposed to later.

Thank you for your post! I got no par meter, neither my friends do. Thats something i should figure out..
Red slime algea came up when i changed the skimmer. I believe it is visible again because there is no balance in my nutriends. The bacteria did their part and i syphon it from time to time, so i hope it will go away!

I would not choose chemiclean tho for many reasons! It will burn all cyano, but with what cost?
