Sorry to hear but I for one appreciate your willingness to try something new and experiment! Have you thought about just fiberglass in ganged epoxying the whole inside? Certainly it would be successful but it is a lot of smelly and hard work!
I was going to fiberglass the whole thing but I was worried about long term chemical leaching, and the cost wasn't worth it. 300 gallon Rubbermaid tubs will be so much easier. I have time to think because I am cutting in a basement door. I need an easier way in and out.

Hello everyone still around. I haven't given up, I just changed plans. I got this Rubbermaid 150 gallon tub. I put in a 2 inch uniseal. Not a drop of water. I was quite impressed with the simple but tight seal that can flex and give for bumps or vibrations. I am going to put 2 of these tubs together for my rock and return pump. I will use a third tub for my macro algae. I am going to use the sump I built as my stand. I'm ordering a glass tank roughly 120x36x30. This will be a fish tank. I will set up a separate reef tank later on.

Hello anyone still around for the re-rebuild. I put three 150 gallon Rubbermaid tubs together with 4 inch uniseal and 4 inch abs pipe. These will hold my live rock. I just placed an order for a 120x36x30 from custom aquarium. I went with them because of the moving kit they provide to move this monster. I am using their h2overflow. I bought one a few months back to test it and was very happy with it. They will be drilling 4 holes in the back, and the tank is going to drain into a 4 inch pipe. That pipe will run to my live rock. I am going to attempt to build a large box to catch the water with a disposable filter.

Everything was so Ridgid that I could feel the vibrations upstairs from the pump. I installed a 2 inch rubber hose before and after the pump to absorb that vibration. Pretty much whisper quiet. Very nice pump imo

Hello, I'm back at it. I got a few tiles up. I picked up a sweet 7 inch filter sock holder that attaches right to my Rubbermaid tub. Fantastic idea by Geo. I ran a few cycle of tap water, then a few of sediment filter then carbon filter to remove the chlorine. Water is running at 76 degrees with no heaters. Adding salt tomorrow. I drilled a spare frag tank to start adding bacteria. And have it ready for fish when my 530 arrives.

I have to say this was the toughest concrete I've ever had to remove. Guess in 1988 they still built with pride and quality. I certainly don't see this today.

Hello everyone. I just received a phone call from customer aquarium, my front and rear panel of glass came in damaged. They do not have any replacement glass so they are upgrading me to ultra clear glass for free. Lucky me

Still no word on when my new tank will ship. I started the mosaic today but as I went along, the wall is slightly out of plumb, and the tile isn't as think as the wall tile. I put a few coats of thinset to bring out the wall a bit so the tile is level. I am not that good with tile because I am messy, same reason I don't paint
