It is the watershed where I live and it seemed like a good name when I chose it. In addition to reefing, I also enjoy collecting native fishes and figuring out how to breed them.

Most state laws just require a fishing license. Washington state I think prohibits the keeping of game fish in an aquarium. There might be a way around that.

Beware of the Fish Popo. At least in Florida you cannot catch game fish with a cast net and due to size limits you may need to start with a pretty big fish. With that being said I don’t know if there are regulations for keeping the in an aquarium. Best bet is to find a hatchery if you want to be bye the book.

Washington requires a special permit to keep Bass in an aquarium. They also require that you never release it back into the wild. So I guess you will just have to eat Billy Bass when he gets to big.

That is a reasonable constraint that you set for yourself and the fish. That said, please know that a full-size bass could require a 240 to 300 gallon tank or possibly even larger. It is better to plan now before you have the fish in your care than when you are having to make tough decisions after the fact. Good luck with whatever you choose!
