Every time I turn the flow of my return up my sump leaks. It is for sure leaking at this seam where the water enters the sump. I’ve tightened those screws, made a gasket out of a plastic bag. Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? Should I just glue the dang thing down? What about maintenance of this chamber if I secure the plate in permanently? Attached pics.

Maybe I need a new sump, and this one isn’t made for that kind of flow?
How full of water is it?
Maybe the bulk head is to high.
If it is, maybe you could cut some slots in it like a weir. It would lower the water a bit.
Or does it need a big oring?

Water level is fine. The water level in that section is meant to be high, and spills over into a section containing the filter socks. It’s just when I increase my flow the water hit the top in that section, and even though it is screwed down the water slowly leaks out. I think it is just too much water flow.

So if you raise the flow, the water level raises. If you Lower the level, you can turn up the flow.

It would appear you're missing a gasket on those black bulkheads.

OK I see where the arrow is pointing now. There is a top plate and its leaking between the top edge and top plate?

Then yeah too much flow causing water to overflow because the level is too high.
