Leather not opening

Hey there. I have leathers that will not open. I just started putting corals in my tank about 3 months ago. The tank was fish only for 2 years prior. I was dosing calcium, magnesium & alkalinity but since I only have soft corals I have been just changing 10% water a week. Parameters are 8.2 PH. 9.2 dkh 400 calcium 1340 magnesium. Can someone help me understand how to make this a successful reef. I have had fish for 12 years but never was successful with reef.

@sfin52 , this is what is particularly frustrating. Every time I Google "toadstool care", I find articles that make the point they are soooooooooo easy to take care of, yet mine won't open ;Facepalm. It has been in my rebooted tank for 9 months, but I had it before then.

Mine have been in for a while. They were open now closed. Zoas are open and Xenia but green star polyps and leather won’t open. This is why I gave up on coral before
