Sorry jumping in a little late here. Planning a 24x24x20 50g cube was thinking that that X150 would be the best option for a mixed reef with SPS middle to top. Am I thinking correctly or would the X200 be a better light for this?
My suggestion is 1 x200 superblue ran approximately 12-14inches above the water. I recommend depending on rockwork height to run each channel no higher then 55%.

I transfered my 4 x200 to my 8x3x2 400g. I run them front to back. I put approximately 150 sps frags along the bottom and they are starting to take off. My plan is to swap the x200 over to x300 and add 1-2 more, but this is for overkill, not really needed. The last pic, is a single x200 sb over the 400g. I turned the light 90 degrees so the 2 ft light is centered over the 3ft width. Ill take more pics when I get hm.

Awesome. Sent Kevin and email yesterday afternoon so will be next week sometime before he reply’s I’m sure. Not in any hurry right. Is still planning and starting to buy the needed items for the build. And thank you for your reply.

They are approximately 12hrs ahead of us in the u.s.. so if they are closed for the weekend expect to hear back on Sunday. Tell him you spoke to Robert about the lights

i received my X200 light the other day.. 1st impressions is good. good quality, good par, nice build quality to it.
1 issue... the app

Can you help me set the app?
I can set it using the times and % and to go in a "sun rise, sun set" in all 4 led sections, but when i set all 4 leds to the times i want the timings are all messed up. Let me try and explain.

12:00 - 17:00 is the peak power (35%) but nothing happens or its very low, almost as if its on the lower power % which it would have been towards the end of the day. its so difficult to explain because nothing seems to make sense.

the only thing i can put it down to is that when you physically input the times on the app, the app does not take into account the time on your phone, but automatically starts at 00:00.

so if you input the times in the phone at 17:00, it starts at 00:00 so your midnight setting becomes your 5pm setting...

i'll try it tonight but if anyone knows differently, that would be a great help

Idk if this is helpful but did you say save changes/settings? I'll share my settings bit to compare

yeah, when make single changes, the light intensity changes with it, but when i do a full cycle i can't quite get the time on the app to match what the actual light is doing,, like i said, its very strange, even harder to explain lol

Be sure to connect to your 2.4g home router first, then the lights wifi, may need to open the app while in 2.4g. This will allow the light to automatically update to your local time zone. I delt with my 2.4g not connecting after the recent daylight savings switch. I had to reboot my 2.4 to get it back on line then the light made the correction.

My understanding of his post, isn't the programing, it's the lights time setting being off. This is why I told him to be sure to connect to the 2.4g router before opening the app or connecting to the lights wifi.

well i managed to get the lights to sync in time. i switched to 2.4g, opened the app, and tried it that way. I must have done something wrong as it didn't work. Tried it back and forth a few times and eventually got it working, not sure how lol but I'm pretty sure it's to do with the 2.4g network like you said.

must say, i am impressed with them. I'm using them over a frag tank and straight away all the frags are opening up nicely. time will tell, but i'm moving a few colonies over and i'm confident they will thrive

Awesome! Glad to here this!. I will upload a vid I made a couple of days ago of my 400g. Since I par metered the tank and turned my lights way down, from a peak of 70% to now 40% per channel growth has started taking off.

You turned your lights down and growth increased?
Yes. But I had set them to peak at 70% intensity per channel when I first set the tank up, without testing par. I fried a number of highend sps, had slow growth ect. A few months ago I finally tested with a par meter, and found I had over 600 par on the bottom of the tank. I cut the lights down, to peak at 40% per channel, and corals started recovering, growth increased as well as color.

Dang. How many lights did you have over that again? 600 in the sand is crazy. Much higher than the numbers I saw so I'm curious if overlap is contributing to those increased numbers. I am running my peak at 70% as well and my tank is only 20" tall.

I have 4 x200 they were 12 inches off the water. I raised them to 17 inches and up the output from 50 to 70%. , I still have them at 17 inches and now 40%.
Hopefully the vid loads so you can see the sensor on the bottom and the computer screen.

I should be clear. 4 x200 over a 96x36x24' tall 400g. Lights running front to back spaced out across the tank. Par measurements seem to be very even through the display at any given height. So anywhere along the bottom I measure is 295 to 305 at my current settings
