then there not real..... no way 7 polyps in a year if that was the case jawbreakers would be $20 by now...
That is exactly them. Alpha may have purchased some of them at that time but my buddy also hit him up and went up in person and grabbed one as well. Now he has around 7 he says....I just found out about these yesterday and have yet to see them in person, but trust me I want to and will probably try and get over there soon as I need to check out his tank anyhow.

Lots of insightful and conflicting replies so far, quite interesting IMO. Even if these shrooms dont end up being the true jawbreakers they do seem to be pretty special and not your ordinary shroom.

Jawbreaker babies all get the red but not all Gameover shroom will have all the color. I have a few babies and some have red and green other have no colors at all. Hopes that help

if thats the case which i have experienced all the baby's do have red and it's more prodominate than the orange there not legit jawbreakers " all small ones in his pics are solid orange".... it's a great mushroom either way and i would rather have it being it multiplies like crazy... is it right to charge the jawbreaker price???? that's up to you if you like it enough why not...;)

Hey Troy i had mines for 3 years before it started spitting out babies. They have to be be very happy in order to multiple.

Btw, did you see the WSOP $50k event last night? OMG, what a sick finish! Helmuth had a huge chip lead and he lost the tourney at the end.

Kien, you are the man! Thanks for clearing that up for us. I thought they looked familiar but forgot the actual name. Game overs are hot too but I think the jawbreakers develop an extra color or two when they mature. Maybe in 3 or 4 years I'll see some purple or pink, lol.

They are real! I got some from him and they died in my tank crash last october. Before they died in the crash I got a buncha babies and took some photos...

After losing these guys and that crash I won't leave my tanks unattended for more than a day, maybe a day!

Show me Kris!!!!! They have to be a different strain every one keeps saying all these baby's lol... Jawbreakers don't pop baby's if they did every one would have them.... I think it's the one kien is talking about but who knows... I'm sure there is more than one out there..;)

mine actually dropped a baby. it's the size of a grain of rice and is slowly, and I mean slowly, developing. It's soo small, I can't even photograph it yet.

I never heard of Gameover shrooms but will have to goggle as for jawbreakers I say no way jose after seeing Franks in person they look similar but not the real macoys

these are mine :-)

because it seems possible thay may have come from a sorce that advertised them as hybred & the reproduction rate seems wrong i would be real cautious about calling them Jawbreakers Ya sell one & Yrs latter it may come back to bite Your buddy best to call them hybred up front a few more Yrs down the road will bring about the truth when thay mature
in the mean whisle if Your bud wants to sell some there is no reason he cant ask the price he wants just be honest
about what thay are its rare to enjoy having enemies

I have had both and they looked exactly the same right next to each other. Has anyone else had Eight's and another of the same type together? As far as the reproduction rates... I think because of the amount these are going for most people selling them have been cutting them to sell. The cutting process stresses these guys out considerably. Eight's mushrooms that we are all talking about are all uncut. I think it makes sense why mushrooms that were never cut and sold uncut can produce babies faster. I have seen others selling these mushrooms as naturally split babies. All the ones I tried to buy previously that were cut did very poorly.

Agreed!!!

Mine was a naturally split baby(Size of a dime). Thats probably why mine grew so fast and has popped off babies already.

Have 3 babies (size of a nickel) that I"m waiting for them to attach to plugs before selling. :)
