So we are trying to figure out if this is a Cirrhilabrus rubeus or a Cirrhilabrus rubriventralis

We are thrown off by the white patch on her nose... Yet no dark blotch by her tail.

Unless it was specifically collected within the Red Sea, it's C. rubeus.

Hey all, trying to id my wrasse. It was sold as a Darwins Glow but I'm not so sure. Anyway, I'm just curious. He looks almost black under heavy blue lighting and green under whites. Red fins. Thanks in advance

Thanks for responding. I searched on Google and see photos of what appear to be several different fish. One looked like mine though. Lol
Google can be misleading.
Always refer to fishbase.org or fishwisepro.com for accuracy.

EDIT: I found it! I had to use my desktop but it worked. Thank you again!
I tried both of those, but searches came up with no data. Fishbase website was down, but there was a link for fishbase usa so I clicked and searched C. melanomarginatus
Fishwisepro same result.
Did you find my fish with either of these or do you know it from memory? I could be doing something wrong. If you can send me a direct link I would appreciate it! Thank you

C. = Cirrhilabrus
Try the full genus name.

Almost always memory, but sometimes I have to look things up too.
If you can send me a direct link I would appreciate it!
