Looking for help to Id my newest wrasse.

Male C. cf. cyanopleura, ruby head fairy wrasse. Hopefully it will get it's own official name sometime soon.

I am not so sure; I think that's actually a female solorensis, as rarely as we see them in the trade. It could be cf. cyanopleura...

The fins, especially the yellow in the anal fin, are not characteristic of cf. cyanopleura.

I'll try to get some better pictures when I get home. I recently acquired it after watching it for more than 3 months at my lfs in a tank of male fairy and flasher wrasse. If it helps it's very bold lol.

The color and patterning of dorsal and caudal are very cf cyanopleura. Lemon posted some detailed pics a few months back on FB.

Where would I be able to see those pictures? I'm just wanting to be able to identify my newest addition since I haven't been able to before or since bringing it home. Beautiful fish and really bold personality. It'll be a really nice addition to my bigger reef since I have Macropharyngodon bipartitus in my other reef system.

Hey, this was a wrasse MJC had in his softy tank. What species is it? Looks similar to my H. pelicieri juvenile.

These three species are all sister species and all look similar. What also challenges marking an exact id is that these three species continually change in striping and patterning.

I can say that neither is zeylonicus and would lean toward both being pelicieri.

I'd guess Cirrhilabrus temminckii. Not positive though
