Let Me ID Your Wrasse!

In my opinion:
The carpenter looks a juvenile male;
The rubripinnis looks a female;
About the ruby head, I am more in doubt (brigth collors but short pelvic fin), maybe juvenile male.

What do you think about?

A wrasse cannoht be both juvenile and male. They are sequential hermaphrodites. They start as neuter, transition to female, then thransition into male. If they have dorsal filaments and fin patterns.

The rubripinnis is still female, but nearing transition, as the spot on the caudal peduncle is beginning to fade.

The ruby head is a male. Female colors are much more muted.

You hit the bull's eye with only one moment pictures! I noticed that the rubripinnis spot is fading during the last 2 or 3 weeks, and did not know what that meant.

And the carpenter, do you think is in thransition into male?

The carpenter is an initial phase male, fully functional, the filaments haven't caught up yet..
