I just got a control system and I would like to make a compartment to attach to my stand. I'm drawing blanks on where to even start. Put up some pics of your compartments so I can get some ideas. Please and thanks. ;)

I wish acrylic manufacturing companies would make covers/shields for the already out controllers that would go inside the stands... I want to display a neat powerbar/head unit but an undesired skimmer overflow splash could result in really bad news...

Ok, my compartments are built into the stand. The first two photos are of the back cabinet area while it was off the stand. I cannot get a good photo of these now. They are too close to the wall. The last photo is the compartment behind the front door of the stand. This is the tank that is in my avatar photo.

I'm looking at exactly the same thing, I'm going to be buying a controller later in the year when the new versions finally hit the UK shores, and I need a serious tidy up of all things electrical. My cabinet is gloss black and I don't want to be putting it in there so I'm looking at a bathroom cabinet 600x600x 150, that I'll attach on the outside at one end, trouble is I'm struggling to find one in gloss black without mirrors... Thinking I might go for an oak one only £150 and I think would look ok, I'm not very good at woodwork otherwise I'd have a go myself, Maybe worth you considering, depending on your skills.

Looks good. That should keep water from splashing onto the electronics. Just keep an eye out on heat in there till you are sure that is not a problem. FYI I have PC4's in my garage here in Texas. It gets over 100 in the garage several times in a year. I have had no heat related issues yet and some have been out there for years.

I guess since I live where it gets hot that is always on my mind. I had the whole RKE system in the garage for a couple of years without any issues. I did not have any high current loads on the outlets though. Just keep track of the ambient temp in the cabinet for awhile just to be sure.

rainydave, that looks like an Archon. How do like it?
I like it more everyday.
I upgraded to it from an RKL. With help from Eric and the rest of the beta team I've found all kinds of new uses. Examples, added a feed button to the stand, added a 3rd float switch to my top off reservoir to prevent my ato pump from running dry, etc.

Sounds great. I upgraded from the RKE. I can't wait to see what is added to it next.
