Glad you found them now you got to get rid of them ASAP. They are fast eater's

There are millions of them every spring just in my yard alone. Only a danger to your house of you have damp wood.

The craziest thing is if they are out on the highway while you’re driving. They’re all over the road and when you drive it leaves a trail of wings flying everywhere like a blizzard.

Day 19.

No new pictures. I spent today adding blocking to seal off open spots around joists, cleaning up, wrapping up construction and getting ready for finish work.

Went shopping and the back of my truck is full of fun stuff for the next phase. Should get interesting real quick now.

Oh the man cave was last year’s project. It used to be our garage.

This is awesome! What do you do for a living? You seem like you have more than a little experience building and planning things?

I’m a software/cloud engineer. No pro building experience, I just like learning things and believe you can learn anything by doing a little homework and just getting started. These days you can learn everything on YouTube!

Agreed! I've also found that if I talk to a pro about an endeavor I'm trying they usually point me in the right direction.

Day 20.

The day started out with finishing up some final details, like paneling the top of this wall.

The joist stuck out an eighth of an inch past the wall on one end. Easy to fix with this fancy sander and a 40 grit disc. I just ground it down flush.

Ok all done!! Everything is closed up now.

Nothing like hanging out in your hole on a hot day!

I’m pretty quick at installing this stuff. Took a little over an hour.

I got this flooring on clearance, $1.20/sqft. It’s solid core all vinyl click lock. The guy tried to tell me it wouldn’t work on my porch. I asked him if his warehouse is air conditioned. He said “no”. I said how long have you had this flooring you’re now selling on clearance. He said “about two years”. Sounds like it will do fine under my porch then.

Just realized I left a pipe in the wall unconnected. I’ll cut a hole for a 4x6” access door so I can fix it. I knew this was going too smoothly.
