I know everybody wants to show their sexy reef tank, but what do most of your workstations look like, and where do you keep it located?
Mine is a custom stand, to house my ATO and water changes. I like to have an actual bench and keep my stuff accessible since I'm running a nano.

This is from a few years ago, but I used to have a pretty sweet workbench in my basement sump/fish room with my refugium and prop tanks:

That's pretty sweet. Is that tank running as a refugium? I'm in the process of considering connecting one under my tank.

I've seen hang on back refugiums that probably aren't any larger than your sump in the back. You'd definitely get results from putting some macro back there and adding a clip on grow light!

if only i had the space back there. its a 26 gallon nano with a skimmer, heater, probes, ato tube, return pump, and dual socks. im a bit out of space, otherwise, id be on it.

Is there any downside to having too much filtration?

That's a tough question to answer. There could be a downside if you're driving your parameters too far out of normal ranges, especially in a small tank. Just a protein skimmer and refugium shouldn't be an issue, though. Running exchange resins or GFO/Phosban etc.. can cause issues if you're bottoming out the nutrients available to your animals.

I need an acrylic tray with a magnifying glass and a light. Thinking about a DIY.
