Our home reefs are full of different personalities and dynamics. But there seems to always be that one fish that calls the shots, keeps the other on their fins, and/or defends the reef from humans...

Does your reef have a 'boss'? Show off your reef boss in the thread!

Yeah, but not a fish. The boss is Cedric, the Skunk Cleaner Shrimp. Do not get between him and food. He's pretty nice to me, though. Gives me a manicure every now and then.

My Dumasarius tang is currently the tank's boss; however, Achilles occasionally forgets his place, which doesn't last long since he is literally half the size of the Dumasarius.

My tank has 2 fish bosses, Tommy the tomini and Angelica the Coral Beauty angel. They are fairly benevolent but it just feels like they are in charge.

King George, my Blonde Naso is definitely the sheriff in my tank. This is an older picture, he is about 13 inches with streamers now.

My new little Springer's damsel is already a boss. It's funny to watch him push around the blue legged hermits at feeding time. He's already developing quite the personality and isn't scared of anything. He tries to but into every pic or video that I try and take. I was taking a video of my little hammer frag in the current, and there he is :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I had an Idol and Purple Tang as “co bosses” …had to rehome the Idol , so now the purple tang in his new role is a friggin dictator…. Terrible leader, nasty and bossy

I see “lip marks” on half the fish ..now I suspect him in a couple unexplained losses

My flame angel is just super annoyed at my starcki damsel he always chases him a little if he swims in front of him . Its not relentless or anything like that but you can tell its just like ugh get away from me lol

My purple tang is definitely the boss of my tank, although he hasn’t been aggressive enough to harm any other fish. I guess he rules mostly with intimidation.

Mine is actually my Foxface! If he sees any fish arguments, he sticks himself in the middle of it. He is actually the peace keeper.

My tank’s boss is it’s only fish inhabitant, a tailspot blenny I have tenatavely named Linguini (I stole that name from someone else), here pictured performing pump maintenance during his feeding time. What a hard worker!

Acquired as a couple-inch thumbprint, she's now well over 8" long and thick; a silverback in a black mask.
