Lg. Mushroom Leather not doing well

Hi Guys, New here……I’ve had my toadstool leather for probably 5yrs now, he’s massive and gorgeous and has been the center piece in my 200gal tank and all of a sudden he’s not doing well? Not sure if he’s just old? How long do these last? What could be effecting him….? He gets a nice flow with a sea swirl which passes by but does not blow directly on him constantly…but again….he’s been loving it for years….now all of a sudden…it looks like his melting….? Brown burn marks/dead marks are starting to appear…..HELP…? I’d hate to loose him!!!

Sadly I lost him…..breaks my heart…….I’d had him for like 5yrs….was gorgeous! The grand Poobah of my tank….I had to bag him up yesterday and get him outta the tank, he was disintegrating just by touching him…..

So sorry. At least you can watch another one grow up.

Yeah, I know….I’ve lost my Magnificent Fox Face, my Leather and now my Yellow Tang….I’ve had my tank for 9yrs…..and those guys for almost the same time, all perimeter are good! It now looks pretty naked now…Maybe they just got old? I’ve never used anything “Cheap” when it come to this tank, it’s actually a memorial tank for our son….f28, on the contrary we went top of the line (back then) oscillating SeaSwirls in both front corners and two stationary in the back, Regal 250-s skimmer, shark refugiuim….so….I’m gonna wait a week or two and start fish shopping again…!!! My Copperband is the king of the tank now….lol.
