Light Placement - front to back

Setting up a 100g mixed reef. Its a 20" deep tank front to back and it seems to me like most of the light would be needed in maybe the 2/3 of the tank towards the back. Should I hang the lights that way, maybe instead of the centers at 10" put them at 6 or 7" from the back wall of the tank?
