On your previous light, was it controllable? Or was it just on or off?
If it was controllable, Your new light will need to be a Higher % to match you previous lights same output.
Your new light is 30W, compared to your previous light at 40W.
You might just need to bump up the New light a little. But it could just take time to acclimate to the new spectrum.

How long have you had the the new light on?
How deep is the tank?

My old light was controllable to 9 different intensity. and can be change from red, blue and all lights. but i was thinking that i may not have been 40w because i only turned on the blue. and the blue leds might have been fewer than those in red. i have the new light for about 3 days. the tank is 12 inches deep
