Hello! Marine lights are generally rather pricey. Anyone ever considered light therapy lights? They seem close to the right brightness and color temperature? Any opinions? TIA!

I admit i know little(ie nothing) about light therapy lights other than what i just saw from a google search.

From what i can see though they are nothing at all like marine lights and more like a 6500k full spectrum light. Even people who like a whiter tank are going to be more like 10k or 14k.

I also dont see any that seem to be anywhere near the intensity you would want for a reef tank.

Again maybe my quick google learning is just not enough to understand though! I will say though that marine lighting can be extremely pricey. It can also be mu h more affordable. I have used many black boxes that can be found very cheap and they can certainly do the job.
