Looking to set up a SPS dominant 60 cube and run the aquatic life T5 retro setup. Question is what is your LED of choice? Thinking of starting up on the T5s with some LPS and once I achieve some stability add on the LED, gradually increase intensity and start adding SPS. Looking forward to getting this off the ground and sharing my progress. Tank arrives next week, Thoughts?

What is your LED of choice? What is your budget is more the quest lol I definitely would not be running marsaqua black boxes if I had $1000 laying around but I do really like the black boxes at $100@. They're a bit more labor intensive is all.
Just my 2 cents

Considering I could get the ATI LED/T5 unit for $1200-$1500. Id like to keep to total under 1000 otherwise I just spring for that model. So I'd like to keep the LED under 750-800

ATI LED with
T5 that's a Cadillac package, I'm sure you'll love it and your corals too.

I am getting ready to set this same tank up for a build contest. Choose a single 250w Halide - it was only $62.50 used and I am on a budget. If I was using a T5/LED combo, it would have been 4 bulb aquatic life and probably a Photon V2 - I am a wide panel guy and do not care for pucks too much, but I also have (and plan on having) large SPS and shadowing is a real deal for me. I would use a pair of True Actinic and a pair of GE 6500k (or Giesemann Tropics) - while this is a bit to yellow for most, I love the colors that actinic and daylight bring to the table and I can always "blue up" the tank with the panel.
