Hello all!

I am interested in increasing my lighting on my 6x2x2. I keep only softies and LPS (for now) but was wondering about adding lights if people think it’s necessary. It’s a rimmed 180 so each square that is made by the two braces is 24”x24”. When buying lights I decided on three hydra 26, one for each 24x24 grid, the 52s were sold out during the Black Friday sale. I’m also running the t5 hybrid with 80watt bulbs, 2 B+, 2C+.

I’m debating on adding more LEDs, I’m thinking about three prime 16 right next to each 26. I don’t want to add 26 as the light about be over some of the brace and I feel like that’s a total waste, any idea how to light the tank better with these braces? Think my lighting now is sufficient? I haven’t used a par meter yet so I guess I should do that before trying anything.

Thanks for any input.

your already way above the lighting you need for that system, the t5s alone will grow all that coral well , to fill in the primes would be perfect. your ready for sps then ...... :)

What you have is probably fine. Only a PAR meter will tell for sure, but I would guess that you are OK.
