Lighting my 120g

I currently have two hydra 26hds over it. I know this is not really enough for more than the zoas and gsp I currently have.

So I was thinking about either doing and aquatic life hybrid or adding a 52 hd in the middle.

I only plan to keep softies and lps at the moment. Any suggestions?

I’d go with the aquatic life hybrid -the t5 supplement will do wonders for your tank.

You can always add a third hydra on top of the hybrid later on, but with the t5 hybrid being about the same cost I think it’s the better option currently.

Also, the BRS guys love the hybrid fixtures -watch some of the videos they have done on them recently, it’s pretty much their most recommended fixture.

So that’s settled. Let’s talk bulb combinations. I already use the ab program so should I use all coral plus? Or 2 blue + 2 coral +?

I think the second option is perfect. That’s what I use. You likely can tweak colors with your LED’s.

Where do you get that the AIH26 will only grow GSP? They will burn many things under them if not acclimated right and also, if you are looking at the WWC tank. They barely have PAR over 300 in their Casper tank. Have you seen this tank??

Anyway, T5 hybrid is the way to go.

It’s not that i think they will only grow gsp. But in a 4x2x2 tank I need to have them 12” above the water to cover the tank and with out getting real par readings I’m guessing I’m not getting enough for what I want to keep successfully in the future.
