Is it a known fact that lions and tangs cannot co-exist that I wasn't aware of? I have a small Sailfin that pestered a smaller Radiata Lion, constantly trying to bite its' fins. I have since removed that lion, so the tang has moved on to pestering my much larger Volitan.....going as far as removing the two feathered fins on top of the lions head. I didn't see him do it but I have been seeing the lion chase the tang away from it more and more. Are tangs just attracted to the flowing, algae like fins or do I just have a tang with an attitude? He leaves all other fish alone.

I had a volitain lionfish and a sailfin for a few years, selling them on when they outgrew my tank. I had no issues at all, so they can live together. But they're all individuals I guess.

When I kept lions I never had that issue. But sailfins are a whole new breed lol mine messed with my eels all the time until one bit the heck out of him! Hasnt messed with them since. Also had a blue tang mess with my lions until he got stung. Never did that again. You just have a sailfin that has an attitude, but they all do.

Well I have two more tangs on order so we will see how that affects the balance.....or lack of lol.
