Little Bumps on Puffer

So I’ve had this puffer for almost a year and I’ve had him in my big tank for about 6 months and he eats like crazy and acts normal he has had one big spot on his fin that must be lympho because it’s been there for a long time. He has all these little pimples on his back that’s been there for a long time and I am wondering what it could be. It doesn’t look like any disease I can find online.

All the other fish look good. I treated them all with hyposalinity before and don’t you think ich would’ve shown within these 6 months of having these bumps?

If there isn’t a cure he acts normal and eats well so I could just let him be but over the last few months in has gotten a lil worse and I don’t think he looks as good as he did before.

Looking again on a computer screen, this looks to be viral or bacterial and not ich and Check nitrate level and even ammonia.

I thought nitrate isn’t harmful until an extreme amount except for certain species of fish like eels?

The bumps have been there long term and not changing location, or changing in number, right?

If so, I’d say they are digenean trematodes. These are internal and require a secondary or even a tertiary host, so they won’t spread or become fatal like direct development trematodes will.

It’s been there semi long term probably 4 months I guesse and it did I’d say get more noticible depending on the lighting and angle I’m looking at him. I haven’t seen it on his side or under belly at all ever. I did just recently notice there is a couple very faint pimples around his mouth area which could’ve been there I guesse and I just didn’t notice.

Would prazi pro fix this? Is there an article about this parasite and is it a rare occurrence with this?

If they are digeneans, they don’t need to be treated, they’ll go away on their own, but it takes time.

Prazi won’t work - all that does is cause flukes to temporarily get stunned and fall off the fish. Digeneans are encysted inside the fish and prazi won’t work on them.
