lone female vs pair aggression

Which is more aggressive? A lone female or a pair? I've heard conflicting views on this one

I think that depends on the clown in question. Usually pairs will focus more aggression on themselves, but will still give other fish hell, especially when breeding. Solos just have the other fish to beat up.
My female has been in and out of pairs, and I don’t really think that has changed how mean she is. It’s all about tank size and tankmates.
