Been very happy using Vectras for different tanks since they came out.
Not the cheapest, but very reliable.

I've had 3-4 SICCE pumps and all have been loud out of the box, but I might have just been unlucky :/Not true, I have a SICCE and mine runs quite in and out of water. Only return pump I’ve bought and needed. I always go with SICCE
I got two Sicce pumps since that is what RedSea uses. The Varios pump I have runs much quieter when I put them side by side. I even sent a video of the RedSea/Sicce return pump to RedSea customer service with decibel meter reading and they said that was normal noise level which would reduce over time. In contrast Varios ran dead silent straight out of the box.Not true, I have a SICCE and mine runs quite in and out of water. Only return pump I’ve bought and needed. I always go with SICCE
This is my experience as well. Sicce pump is not super loud but the hum is annoying. In contrast my Varios cannot be heard whatsoever.I have a a sicce 3.0 syncra silent pump in my AIO tank and it is quiet but I can hear it humming while sitting close by the tank.
I also have a reef Octo VarioS 8 in a sump in the same room and that one is dead silent.
just my personal experience
They probably think the Sicce pump is quite (ie, slight hum) but have never compared it to a truly silent pump like a Varios which runs with no audible hum whatsoever.I totally agree with this. People thinking sicce makes a quiet pump is wild to me. Maybe they are known to be reliable but so is my Jebao.
ive got a sicce 3.0 on my rsr 170 and its dead silent with the cabinet closedI've had 3-4 SICCE pumps and all have been loud out of the box, but I might have just been unlucky :/
