I am wanting to get a apex control but it kills me to dish out 600$ right out of the gate lol. I know the full offers more than the jr but alot of the stuff I won't be adding on until later down the road. I'm in the process of a 75 gal reef and at first only need to control temp, LEDs, powerheads, and ATO. Later down the road I'd like to add more like leak detection, pH, ORP, DOS system, and dual reactor. Would the jr run most of this or do I need the full? Would it cost much more to piece it together because I really don't need the display. New to controllers so any advice is appreciated. I'd also like to here what modules and equipment everyone is running on their apex. Thanks!

For what it sounds like you wish to do with it, go with the full.

If you buy the Jr, you're going to spend extra money buying additional modules later which won't all be necessary with the full version.

Watch for used deals. I've never bought a new one and have had many over the years for about half of what your first post indicated. I've got three now in service - all used with no issues.
