So I have a 55 gallon standard tank and I currently run led over it but got a steal on a original ati t5 power Module so I want to instal this instead hanging from ceiling is not an option... what would be a good way to hang this?

I’m wondering if I could just build the wood up on the sides and just lay the light on the wood, would that be a problem?

By the way the I made the stand myself obviously but it wraps around the whole tank like that.

Avoid the aquatic life hangers. Really good people but I have these and they are flimsy AF. I would not sleep well with even a 4 bulb ATI fixture hanging on them.

Cadlights makes a promising looking equivalent but they have been out of stock for months. Best option would probably be 80/20 but its spendy.

Looks good Alex. You will like the ati fixture. I have mine about nine inches off the water. You will want the fan and plastic shield operational. The air flowing through the fixture is important. So hang it in the canopy so it can breath. Building up the canopy is a good idea.

The extruded aluminum would be ideal IMO, but something made of wood can also work. I would just be aware the t5 fixture housing can really hot and I wouldn't necessarily trust it resting directly on wood without some sort of insulating barrier.

i made myself a custom hanger for my ai hydra and t5 combo by welding small tubes together with screw mounts on each side to mount. do you know anyone who welds? could be a fun little job
