So I had a pair of young clownfish in my 24G AIO, usual fluttering, posturing, always together - have not laid eggs (only a watchman goby/pistol shrimp in there with them). Forgot to place the top on the tank the past few nights - what I assume to be the female (larger, thicker) decided to leap out - found her dead on the floor in the morning:(
How do I go about adding another clown to pair up with my current 1.5" male...? Go smaller and hope he morfs into the dominant female or get a larger potentially female clownfish and hope they play nice?
Thanks!

Sorry to hear about the fish. If it were me, I’d go for a clown about 1 inch or less.
The current male is now the dominant fish, and may not take to a competitor even if it hasn’t fully transitioned yet.

larger doesn't necessarily mean it will be female, it might be an older male. IMO better to get a smaller one
