Hello there, anyone have the recipe to dose/make loudwolf's sodium nitrate solution?

http://theplantedtank.co.uk/calculator.htm
This will help with your calculations. I actually attempted to be scientific about it, but the amounts never seemed to be perfect. So, I used the above calculator to mix an amount of Sodium Nitrate with 500ml water to see how much of an increase 1ml dosing would be expected to increase my system. Then, I typically just dose a few milliliters when my nitrates start to decrease...nothing exact but trying to keep my nitrates around 5-10ppm.

No matter how much sodium nitrate you mix with RODI water, after you are done.... Take an initial nitrate reading, then dose 5mL and test again after an hour or so. That will show you how much 5ml increases your particular system with your particular mixed solution. Then write that amount on your dosing container....I have to do this because I forget regularly, lol.

I am the same way!! thanks alot for the help!!!!!!

Use the entry for potassium nitrate and use 20% less since sodium nitrate is a bit more potent.

Thank you much!!!

It shows right on the line for Nutrient: and one of the choices (the one showing for me) is potassium nitrate

While using Loud Wolf Sodium Phosphate powder, does this calculator seem to be right for the amount to dose when mixed with 16oz/473ml of RODI, dosed at 1ml per day?

Looks about right.
Reality is you'll rely on testing to adjust your dose.

FWIW, I currently mix 2 grams (1.88 target but whatever I sprinkle in) of Loudwolf Trisodium Phosphate into 500 mL of RODI water (using a scale).
I dose around 6-8 mL daily into 40 gallon tank and vary it based on periodic testing.

Currently have my nitrates ranging from 8.6-10. While my phosphates on the Hanna ULR keep showing 0-.012. Im dosing 7.5ml twice a week of Seachem Flourish Phosphorus and still getting low readings. Was going to witch out to Loud Wolf as Im currently using that for Nitrates with great success. Just wanted to make sure Im getting the mixing ratio correct before overdoing it. Thank you for your response.
