To anyone that has some anthias,

I'm looking to add a few to the new tank I'm currently building, but I can't decide on which species. I don't want to get too far into the deep-water varieties, but I'm really really looking for those vibrant pinks, purples and yellows. More the pink than anything else.
If you have any photos of your anthias that aren't blown out with lights and filters, just showing the fish in their typical state, I'd love to see them!
I'm particularly looking for Lyretails, Bartlett's and Evansis.
Just please drop the species and sex of the animal along with the photos.

Thanks!

Pictilis, pricey, Evansi is a favorite! I love hot pink in nature, even more, hot pink magenta, wherever it is found. I have a cactus with that color flower, cannot be more eye catching in my view. My Evansi does not like white light. The Pictilis is a puppy against the glass watching me and always where I am. I feed 4 times a day with a variety of frozen food to help keep vitality and coloration.

Would you mind pointing out which are the pictilis?
Besides that, is the Evansi a deeper water species? I would get why it wouldn't like white light in that case.
I saw a Bimaculatus myself today and they look great.
If you've got photos of the Pictilis in white light I'd love to see them too!

Here is the male Pictilis. Such a mellow fish, more or less likes the middle of the water column in my tank. Sometimes has a few places in the rock work that it will feel safe and chills a bit. Always wants fed, loves Mysis and LRS. The Evansi was shy at first, took a week to get comfortable come out regularly. At first stayed exclusively to the right side of my tank, now swims much more around, but I’ve never seen it venture to the left corner where I have a pair of clowns. The Evansi is a truly high energy fish. Likes my higher flow. I once was working on the glass with a magnetic algae scraper, and it missled out of the tank. I grabbed him, and released him in the tank promptly. Didn’t see it for a couple days, but I think it bonded with me more after rescue.. perhaps. I can’t provide you with the best, most accurate answer on it being a deep water fish, however, I think, like say a black cap basslet, gradually it
would adjust to more light once settled in. It is a rapid swimmer to grab food among competing fish. I really enjoy keeping it.

23 second video. Not sure it can be viewed unless on a computer. Should’ve waited a minute more for food to thaw, had to jet, but u can see both Anthias, the difference in behavior, but both can quickly propel to eat the food before the bigger guys and other hungry tank mates.

All the fish look happy and healthy. I ended up checking out a local fish store about an hour away from me and actually saw a Bimac that I absolutely fell in love with.
I guess I know what I'll be getting.
Thank you very much though!
