For the last several days, my soft corals, sea mat and various anenomies have not been in full form. The only parameter that seems to be varied from previous testing is DKH which tests at 6.0 (Hanna). Ph is unchanged at 8.3. ORP around 300. What would you suggest changing, adding, or investigating further. All fish seem to be doing well, absolutely nothing noted. Tank is 240 gal. established over 10 years ago. No recent deaths, changes to tank whatsoever. Protein skimming with same equipment as ever. Twice weekly dosing of Reef Actif and All-For Reef.
Any suggestions appreciated.

If you're only keeping softies, and you're doing All For Reef, you should be able to maintain a higher alk. What salt mix do you use, and do you do regular water changes?

I would suggest your pH reading is a bit off, unless you happen to have your windows open these days. Try calibrating.

When using AFR it is best to raise your parameters using separate methods. In your case I would raise your ALK using the brand of your choice. Once you get it where you want it AFR will keep it that way

Have you been doing this for over 10 years?

I believe a ph of 8.3 while dosing AFR.

I would suspect your approximate test to be erroneous.

I would (and do) simply slowly raise the daily AFR dose to attain your target alk. Calcium will hardly move at all.
