I have a 15 gallon IM nuvo and want to eventually get around to keeping some acros in it but don’t want to fry all of my moderate to low light coral, any recommendations for types or morphs I should try out/ tips for creating a high par at the top and hard drop off to lower par

Try lower light acros like red dragon or some other smoothies. They generally do well in a bit lower light

Thanks definitely am going to look into red dragons I’m thinking about adding gonis in a month or two then acros

What light do you have on the tank? A 50 watt light is not going to fry any corals.

Branching Cyphastrea is very SPS like…
wow i forgot about this thread to be honest lol, unforortunately the cyphastrea grew into a nice mini colony super fast but died due to a power outage along with a couple other coral including a nice deep water lokani that was doing pretty good in a little high light zone i had made with a spare hygger eyeball light. at this point in time im actually going to be sort of breaking down this 15g to remake into into dominantly macro algae tank and just put everything into a 80g setup i have sitting in the garage

Not an acro, but I would try a stylophora. Gets away with less light and grows fast.

Yeah I pretty much just gave up with trying acros in the 15g, but birds nest has always grown great for me, just gave about a 5 inch by 2 inch chunk to a buddy who really wanted one
