I have a bubble coral that is leaking zooxanthellae (mouth is also more open than normal) and a elegance that won't open.
I have no clue what is happening. Also my zoanthids are inflating and bruising (turning black) in some polyps.

My cup coral and other softies are doing fine.

My nitrates are 5 ish ppm
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Salinity 1.024
Temp 25ish C
pH 8.1
Akalinity is 9dKH
Phosphate (not sure, used up the kit) (but no algae problem either so cross my fingers)
Calcium 440
Mag 1290

Have you fed the bubble coral lately ?

I am by no means a pro but was reading a post last night about zoas inflating and there were replies stating that they can inflate if light is to intense.

I was out of town a few days and had more evaporation than anticipated and corrected the salinity to fast and noticed some of my lps with mouths gaping. I'll post a picture when back to computer. Have you had any swings?

I think my salinity dropped back down to 1.024 from 1.025 (because of evaporated water) then added back water to make it 1.024

Okay based on what I got, I think I'll be moving my button polyp corals under my leather or lower down and also the brown stuff is most likely poop. I think another reason of lps shrink might actually be cleaning up my wave maker which is excessively powerful. I still don't know y elegance is doing bad though

When is the last time you did a 20% water change, and do you run carbon?
No I don't run carbon, and I do a weekly water change of at least 10 percent (mostly only 10 though)
