Lubbocks Wrasse Info Needed

Bluezoo has a nice Lubbocks wrasse available but I need more info. I remember years ago they were considered a great nano fairy wrasse but I see a lot of conflicting info now.

Currently I have an IM20 Pensinsula that also houses a pink streak wrasse. I’m wondering how they would get along and if that’s adequate space. The tank is fairly light on rock but does have quite a few hiding spots. Any info is appreciated!

For a tank that small and given that you already have a pink streaked wrasse in there, I would definitely avoid one. Lubbock's should have 4 feet or more of horizontal swimming room as they are fairly active.

I’m really struggling to decide what else to add to my tank. It’s only 20 gallons but I want something colorful that’s fairly active. I really want an Angel but I just don’t see it working out

Yellow “Coris” Wrasses wouldn’t work as they’re highly active and don’t stay small.

It depends which variant you get, I have both and the Cebu is much larger and active than my Indonesian is.

I had one, great social fish…then I added a male radiant wrasse, now I don’t have a Lubbocks anymore….little jerk radiant!

Do you have a royal gramma or firefish already? I was always partial to the green war paint goby as well, but you won’t get “active” out of them.

It depends which variant you get, I have both and the Cebu is much larger and active than my Indonesian is.

I’ve had my yellow 3 years and it’s a little over 3”

That’s interesting, my iridis has also overpowered most of my wrasses (Including the aggressive chloropterus) but never killed any. I can add wrasses into my tank and the radiant doesn’t care as long as it won’t compete with it.

Don’t know for sure if he killed them, but possibly bullied the lubbocks and a carpenters fairy wrasse till they wouldn’t come out. Most likely stressed to death.

Radiants won’t bully the fish unless the fish goes at the radiant. Then usually the radiant will display its fins.

Maybe yours doesn’t, but mine chased a watchman goby all over my 120 until I found him in the weir.

Not in a 20 gal tank. I don't think you should keep either Lubbock Fairy or and dwarf angel in a 20 gal tank. Save your money and get at least a 40 gal breeder, or a 65 gal.
