I have a mag 18 that was sitting dry for awhile, it needs to get something to get it going. I can get it to spin for a few seconds and they it stops and I took the magnet out and it seems like it’s dry

What is safe to put on it?

Citric acid is your best bet. The magnets sometimes get old and rust and swell. You may need a new impellar.

And if that's the case, you're way better off buying a $75 Chinese DC pump than a $50 impellar. All the mag pumps are terribly innefficient
