Last of the two things stripes are at the reef shop, and I believe my water params are looking better, minus salinity.

Ammonia-0.2
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-20
Phosphate-0.25
Sal-1.022
Alk-8.64dkh
Ph-8.0

While I do have a few issues, a waterchange could fix it.

I was prepared to not get paid on the painting of the pup since it was so late but they happily paid what owed with no questions. Which is nice, and if it turns out we don’t need it before next payday, it’ll go into my salt fund.

On the topic of the reef shop they gave me this nice little macro. Dragons breathe, I believe. Though looking online this seems a bit different. I’m wondering since I do have turbo snails if I should stick it in a Shu box instead.

Thoughts?

I believe the Dino’s are starting to go away. Things are still covered daily but it seems less stringy. I still smell em.

I think i seen it as atomic broccoli...
Aha! Yes I’ve looked it up and that’s exactly it. I’ll put it in the Shu in the display soon as Riv lets me up. She had a bath and is a sleepy gal.

Let sleeping dogs lie and all that.

So in a Facebook group I’m in they do monthly giveaways where you can either win (random draw) the monthly items (was prime and a python water changer) or a gift card for the amount. I won this month and opted for the card since I needed salt and such.

So ordered a box of salt via Amazon, but it won’t be here for a month. I’m not sure why it’ll take so long but I didn’t have the money to get it sooner. Hopefully it’ll arrive and I didn’t get scammed out of 70 bucks.

I also was able to order some 5 micron socks, which will help to get the Dino’s out I hope. I’m not sure the best way to go about using them as I’m sure they’ll clog very fast in the sump. I’ll try it that way, and if it doesn’t pan out I’ll find a way to maneuver it with a bucket.

Also I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it but I have baby rock flowers :) I’d love to find a way to get them collected and sold, so I’ll have to research that. They’re still very small, about the circumference of a pencil eraser :D

And finally please enjoy Nanaki staring down the toothbrush during his tank cleaning. He’s gotten quite large, and needs an upgrade. That will come when possible.

Aw, when’s the baby shower? I’ll bring a box of salt instead of diapers! Obviously Amazon doesn’t have it in stock and is getting it from the manufacturer. Could you find a different salt that mixes to similar parameters and order that after canceling the first product?

I’m not sure honestly. This box was 66$, and is 200 gallons.

Six years ago I was ready to toss it all in the trash. A day or so before, y wet/dry ended up messing up(my fault) and flooded the floor causing damage to the stand of the 60 gallon. I believe at the time there was a contest here, for the Waterbox 70.2. I entered and never in a million years did I think I’d be chosen.

A heartfelt thanks to this forum for helping me keep my two clownfishes ❤️ Sideshow Bob and Selma were anniversary gifts from my husband so they’re very special to me.

Glad you didn’t, obviously you were meant to be a reefer Bev!
I’m glad I didn’t either. I have learned a lot and made some of the best friends through reefing.

Yay filter socks! I’m not sure if I should use both (since I have two spots) or just one at a time. The main purpose is to collect the dinos. Fwiw I put one in already and I had to rinse it after about three hours lol.

Nems today. Salinity almost to 1.022.
IMG_4030.jpeg

I’ve also noticed that there is a good bit of cyano and ver the rocks and a little on the substrate. I’ve not noticed the dinos which is a plus. One battle at a time. Once the salinity pops back into place (hopefully by Friday) and then I’ll work on fixing the cyano. At least I think it’s cyano. It’s bright under the blues, but it’s hard to knock off things.

Params yesterday were:
Ammonia .25. I believe this is due to the kid being three years out of date lol. (RS)

Nitrite zero. (RS)

Nitrate 5.(Salifert)

Phosphate 0.03 (Salifert)

Ph 8.0 (RS)
