So the wife was on my laptop last night and "didn't do anything wrong" but this morning the address bar is completely missing. I can type in web addresses only use my bookmarks.

Anyone have any idea what I should do? Im not the most computer savy guy around......

Try Safari, Reset Safari, assuming that's the browser to which you're referring. Safari help explains how to do it.
