Currently If i rated my photography skills i would be around...... D+

Tons of room for improvement.

I currently only have the kit lense and would like to expand on that. While I do know a new lense will not make me better i still want to start practicing with macro photography. Obviously fujinon 80mm is the king but at $1050 it’s out of my price range. Which other macro lenses would you guys recommend.

The ones I have seen that work with x mount are....

Ronkinon 100mm f2.8 $470

Samsung 100mm 2.8 $500

Mieke 85mm f2.8 manual focus $280

Fujinon 60mm f2.4 $600

I would obviously like to spend less but does anyone have experience with any of these lenses?

you can use other lenses through the use of adapter rings. some of the functionality may be lost but macro is typically a fully manual endeavour anyways.

Would the the fujinon 60mm macro be a good choice? I’ve found some good deals I just don’t know if this would be a good choice

I don't have a Fuji but my 105mm macro lens is absolutely fantastic. Around 100mm is the ideal focal length for me. I tried extension tubes but don't rate the quality at all.

A decent macro lens gives instant improvements - the next best thing to, you know, actually knowing how to take photos

For comparison purposes, mine retails in the US for 500 bucks.

If the Fuji 80mm was $500 i wouldn’t even think about it. The 80mm is currently $1050

what lens do you have as of now?
I just use some cheap Amazon extension tubes on my Xt2 and gives pretty close to macro for about $25 I use them on my 90 f2 and 56 1.2

this is a pretty small little mushroom 16mm extension tube with 90mm. You can also stack the 16mm and 10mm tubes to get even closer. Just know with tubes you dont have the full focus range so you just got to move the camera tot he proper focus area. but it beats buying a full macro lens if you are just wanting to try and take a few shots

I have the 18-55 as well and it works decent on that because that lens has a not so bad min focus at 55mm. but its not going to get you as close as my 90 can get. But its a cheap thing to try if you want.
