What do you guys use for a magnesium powder solution?

ive tried Redsea magnesium powder solution but it leaves a residue.

Leaves a residue on what? The mixing container?

Properly formulated magnesium supplements should optimally contain both magnesium sulfate and magnesium chloride.

There is often a little calcium in magnesium chloride that will precipitate with sulfate from the mag sulfate component.

That material will redissolve in the tank, so is OK to dose the solids, or you can just ignore it as it is a minor component that won't throw things off appreciably.
