Went to wally world and got a mainstays 32 cup cereal dispenser...

5 bucks for 5 float switches on amazon (get 5 because i found 1 that doesn't work... i heard this would happen)

some plastic tubing... free from the scrap pile

and a 90 degree thread fitting from lowes home improvement

total cost, under 10 bucks!

controlled by my apex to shut off the skimmer when it fills up... if you make one you must put the float switch far enough down in the container to allow the skimmer to drain all of the cup into the container or it will overflow

Nice work!!

Nice work!!

thanks....

i have wanted one for a while as i need to empty my cup about every other day.... but i just couldn't see spending the money they want for one... and when i forget to empty it and feed formula one frozen the skimmer goes crazy and dumps it back into the tank....

its starting to smell a bit, so i will be adding a vent to it with a carbon tower of some sort...

after a day the cup is totally clean and i have about a days worth of fish poop in it... LOL

Cool!!
