I have a few Majanos in my tank that I've been keeping at bay with Kalk paste. I do have a pretty heavily stocked sps tank and I know I'm eventually gonna nuke something with Kalk paste on accident. Where is everyone buying these lasers for burning the suckers?

i personally would not, the rasping technique can beat them if you get a hold quickly (lift out rock, literally rasp them off with a metal file or knife, taking a bit of anchored rock with them...no tissue= no return)

to me the lasers are just too dangerous at that wattage level and they still leave anchored tissue in the rock folds, fun but not as good as rasp

in many large tanks the rock cant or wont be lifted out...but if its avail for the lifting, that is the top majano method

It's far too cumbersome and any remaining tissue will sprout new aiptasia and then some.

Personally I use true Peppermint Shrimp, and I have tried every remedy except nudibranchs.

In a dominate sps I would lean towards Peppermints over any other method or nudibranchs as a long term remedy.

I bought a laser. It was a waste of money. It just eats batteries. Basically a set of batteries is good for one aptasia. If you have an infestation I would try something else. I ended up buying 2 peppermint shrimp that quickly took care of most of these critters over A few weeks

I purchased laser components from
Survivalaser USA and assembled it. It is not a cure-all but works easier than any other method that I have tried. It is also fun!

How long do the batteries last. My laser runs in 2 3 volt batteries These are pretty much toast after one session of zapping. My lazer is 1000ma
