Gunna go pick up a peacock, I noticed the sticky about sexing them which makes it very clear how to do it

Had one in the past and it never even occurred to me to sex them, is there a reason to? Any differences in size, behavior or aggression?
Thanks

Curiosity and maybe colors... males seem to often be brighter. Never noticed a difference in behavior.

Yeah what he said lol, females tend to be more brown than green like males

Hmmm I’m gunna go look at one today, I guess I’ll try and sex it and maybe hold out for a male

I would just go for whatever sex you find the smallest of. They grow fast but the large ones also have more problems with molts and such. Just make sure it is a peacock as many retailers label any colorful mantis as peacock.

My first peacock mantis I bought was the size of a quarter when I got her and oh my god :star-struck: They are difficult to find this size tho.
