Caution here...you have no cable loops here. Small amounts salt water can drain directly in to your power strips.

i live in an apt, my tank is a Redsea 170 since we don't really have a lot of space. i tried to make the sump as simple as possible, since im not a big fan of cables just hanging around.

.

It is! It’s also interesting seeing people who have clean and tidy setups say how difficult it is to pull something out to service it etc. I would have never thought of that.
it would be so nice if the manufacturer included quick connects on their cables for 3/6/10ft. That would really cut down on the excess cable laying around.

corey

yes!!! i totally agree, luckily the only one i need to tear down to clean up is the skimmer. i did some upgrades so i had to make a new cable box, but everything still looks clean. it took me a dang day just to make a lil box lol.

Beautiful setup!

With more people being at home more than normal I'm sure we're all checking things off the aquarium to do list! One thing I'm not the greatest at and something I have been putting off is making the cables and cords from my reef tank look better. Some people don't really care how it looks and some people want it as tidy as possible! Let's talk about that today!

1. Are you someone who cares what the cords and cables look like around your reef tank?

2. Do you have any useful cord managing tips for those of us who are not that great? Maybe share some product links to help us?

BONUS: SHARE a photo of your cable management so we can be inspired! :)

@Steve1310 has done a very nice job!

what are the power brick holders and where did you get ..do you have a link?

thanks

I'm terrible with cords. I definitely would like to see more of this!

Velcro zip ties are a good way to keep cables managed

With the extra cables for equipment is that being stashed away in a compartment that you can't see? I'm looking to get my cable situation a little more under control, and not sure how you go about hiding the entrance length of cables to numerous pieces of equipment, thanks!

I use velcro straps to bundle the excess wires.
I run 4-8 plug strips that are labeled. Its easy to remove if needed. All the wires are hid behind the stand.
