Hello

I’ve had my mandarin for 1.5 weeks and he’s been very active up until yesterday and today he’s moving even less.

I have 40 gallon with 40lb of live rock , tank has been cycled for 3 months. I have 2 clowns, a blenny a royal gamma and a goby pistol shrimp pair. I know I probably should have waited 6 months but I had lots of pods and seeded a jar of pods right after I got the mandarin. My LFS where I got my tank and everything said I would be fine to get a mandarin now. I have even seen him eat frozen mysis shrimp. I can still see pods on the glass but he’s not hunting anymore just sitting there breathing heavy/gasping lots of mouth movements.

What should I do?
Is there enough water agitation for oxygen exchange?

I would seed with another jar or pods but I see pods all over the glass.

Also he looks more plump then when I got him at the store and no visible issuses

Check his belly. Mandarins get a visible dent if they aren't eating enough.

What sort of blenny do you have? Have you noticed anyone giving him a hard time?
