Had this green mandarin for a month or two. Tank is loaded with pods and he is still happily pecking away all day. However, today he is very pale colored. I've seen them do this at night when they sleep, but never during the day.
Should I be concerned?

It seems normal to me if it was taken early in the morning as I have seen mine do that at night when trying to blend in with the sand. Never seen it happen during the day though but additionally dont go hunting for him when the lights come on.

Yeah, that's why I thought it was weird. It was 2:00 in the afternoon when i took that pic. I wasn't looking for him, but he was pecking some pods up by the front glass and I noticed the discoloration.

Don't get me started on bubble algae lol. You should have seen the tank 3 months ago!
I have an army of emerald crabs working on that project
