Mangroves!!!

Purchased 12 red and 7-8 Oriental mangroves from a seller on eBay that were shipped from Hawaii to East Coast US and they were in better condition than the ones I got in person from a local vendor at a frag show! Have them in RODI and plan to grow them out in FW for next few months!

All part of my master plan for this bad boy :cool:

Took some time to drill some 1/2" PVC and stuck some acrylic rods in them to better secure the mangroves and hold them slightly above water level to encourage their routes to grow downwards!

Cool idea!

I would have fallen back on my horticulture training and used hydroponic net pots with rockwool cubes…

This provides better support for the plant without relying on a floating raft though! good thinking!

I think I'm going to have to make a minuturized version that will work on a mason jar.

It should work well. I have some Brightwell Aquatics FlorinVolcanit ordered to add as substrate to help them grow as well.
