I have my orpheks mounted 16" above the water. It looks like t5 but with but with led movement. Your mounting is one of the best looking but I wonder if you could get someone to build some leg extensions to raise it up or maybe some diffusers. Tank looks awesome, love the scape and aside from the damaged panels looks like things are going well.
Thanks for the input - I really like the shimmer of Kessils but just bought an Atlantik when BRS had them on sale. Got sold on the whole blanket of light aspect. That said I had XR15's Gen 3 and the movement was too busy for my taste and is my biggest concern with the Orphek. What to do, what to do.....

Question for you Manny, could you give me a sense for how often your heaters are running? I have the Waterbox 170.4/5 and find that my dual 300 watt heaters run way more than I suspected. I live in Michigan and I would say that 1 heater runs 40-50% of the time. And it’s summer time....

Just curious... Thanks!

my heaters are also running most of the time because I keep my house around 65-70 year long

Hi Manny - The tank looks great - I was wondering if the orpheks have a disco ball effect on the tank?

Thanks!

i was getting a lot of disco ball effect because the lights were mounted too low. since then, I've raised the light using the new AI rails which are a lot higher than the older version

Removing the first filter sock holder took forever and I managed to cut myself twice. Still worth it

Glad to have found your thread. Just about to setup the same tank. Your Setup and progress looks great.

Which clarisea fleece filter unit did you end up using? I could not tell from the pic as I trying to see if SK-3000 or SK-5000 would work.

Your controller section is using Marine Depot Standard Aquarium Controller Board Mounting System I assume?

Can I ask how were you able to remove the first baffle? I am having a difficult time as there seem to no room for the blade to get in between the glass for bottom and one side of the glass to remove it. I have one side removed but can't seem to get the other two side.

thx

This is awesome!! Im planning out a upgrade and thought I was pretty set on the WB 130.4 but this has me wanting your setup! Can you show a little more of your light setup? Do the AI rails need any modification for the Orpheks? Also are you happy with the amount of flow your pumps are putting out? Super nice setup

i used all kinds of tools.one of those cheap box cutter with the very long blade. It can bend quite a bit. I also used fishing line. Lots of it cause it kept breaking. Using a heat gun does soften the rubber quite a bit. Overall it took a long time

i had to modify the bolts that come with the lights quite a bit for them to fit through the channel in the ai rail.
Currently I have my gyre pumps set at 20%. Beyond that it’s too much flow :)

This will be my second tank. Currently have a red sea reefer 170 and decided to upgrade to a 5' tank. Decided to go with the waterbox over the red sea because of the features (glass overflow, gate valve).

Ordered my tank November 20th 2019M8 and received it a month later.
