I did it, fish friends!

I’ve burned out multiple rollers on my Trigger Sump Rollers and they’re expensive!!! I’ve been mulling on an easy manual way to roll it without grabbing the fleece by hand. - cumbersome and dirty. It took me over a year (I woulda just overpaid if I could have found something on the interwebs), but the idea of a auto window handle (if anybody is old enough to remember those) FINALLY hit me and I’m swimming in pvc.

I got a paper towel holder to hold the new fleece and clear up some room. (~$12 on Amazon). Window handle (~$15) from the local auto shop. PVC probably about $20-30? It was all left over from my initial build. (I always change my design halfway through to something “better” and always end up with multiple trips to the hardware store and lots of extra pvc.) it’s all 1/2” pvc except the the pieces that hold the roller bar (3/4”). It should be easier to throw away the old fleece instead of fighting to push it off/unroll it with the Trigger version.

It took me way too long to figure this out and I’m sure one of you will have a better design for the next version, but I’m super stoked. I love it when a plan comes together!!

Where do you get the fleece roll from? Great design I am going to do something similar once I settle on a design, your is so simple and that is what I am going for.. no need to complicate it or make it expensive, it just needs to work. Well done

I have several trigger sumps with the fleece rollers. Have you tried using the timer settings?
Even if you stick with the optical sensors, be sure to power down when servicing your setup or it will hyper roll.
