looks Healthy, he will eventually eat just keep offering, they are pretty shy when they eat. with long tongs present his meal in front of his cave. My female still refuses to eat at times. Being in a new tank he could be finding enough to eat on his own.

Some are sold at Diver's Den. First one went today:

As for the sex of juveniles, last year I would have said yes, they all start as females but by now I'm not so sure about that anymore. I have one pair where the male is significantly smaller than the female and I can see differences with the juveniles that align with full size male - female differences.

We'll have some up on our site likely late this week/early next week. Once they're consistently eating pellets along with frozen they'll be ready for sale. Then we'll know they'll be able to succeed in most hobbyists' tanks.

The little ones can sustain themselves quite well out of a well-established reef tank if it has enough pods in it. While raising them, I saw them frequently pick pods from the tank walls. Even their parents are still going after pods when they spot them.
Also, in a larger tank, they may disappear for a good while and live in hiding until they have reached a size at which they feel safe. But they are survivalists and know how to stay safe from predators and other dangers.
